3 challenging beginner yoga poses you don’t need a teacher for!

Yoga is a fantastic way to lose weight, improve flexibility, and feel great—all from the comfort of your home or within a welcoming studio. But let’s say you’ve just started getting into your practice and are looking to already spice up your routine.

Here are 3 poses that help you do just that:

1. Downward-Facing Dog :

This iconic pose stretches your entire body while strengthening your arms, shoulders, and core. Start on all fours, then lift your hips toward the ceiling, forming an inverted V shape. Keep your hands and feet firmly on the ground. As you hold this pose and focus on deep breathing, it calms the parasympathetic system, helping to lower stress and reduce cortisol levels.
Hold for 15 to 30 seconds.

2. Warrior II:

Warrior II strengthens your legs, tones your arms, and improves balance. Step your left foot to your side into a lunge, keeping your right leg straight and arms extended to your sides. Look toward your left. Tighten your whole body to intensify the burn of calories.
Hold this pose for 30 seconds on each side while breathing deeply.

3. Chair Pose:

Think of this pose as a yoga squat. Stand tall as you step your feet out to be parallel to your hips. Bend your knees, and lower your pelvis as if sitting in an invisible chair. Keep your arms extended overhead. Chair pose strengthens your legs and glutes while engaging your core.
Hold this pose for ten to fifteen seconds.

These exercises not only help you tone your body and lose weight but also calm your mind and promote relaxation. We recommend practicing them regularly for a healthier body and a peaceful state of mind.
