Starting your day with yoga is a fantastic way to wake up your body, clear your mind, and set a positive tone for the rest of the day. Morning yoga helps boost circulation, improve flexibility, and activate the parasympathetic nervous system, reducing stress and promoting mental clarity.

Here are three beginner-friendly yoga poses, chosen by the Yoga Llama team, to help kickstart your morning with energy and focus!

1.Downward-Facing Dog


This classic pose stretches your entire body, improving circulation and relieving stiffness after sleep. Start on all fours, lift your hips toward the ceiling, and straighten your legs to form an inverted V shape.

Hold for 30 seconds to 1 minute, focusing on deep, steady breathing to calm the nervous system while energizing your muscles.

2.Warrior 2

Warrior 2 is great for building strength, stability, and mental focus. Step one foot forward into a lunge, keep your back leg straight, and extend your arms at shoulder height

Hold for 30 seconds on each side, breathing deeply to activate your core and improve balance.

3.Plank Pose

The plank pose strengthens your entire body, especially the core and shoulders. Begin in a push-up position and lower your upper body to your elbows, keeping your body straight from head to heels. Squeeze all muscles tightly.

Hold for 30 seconds or longer, using slow, controlled breathing to increase endurance and mental focus.

Incorporating these simple yoga poses into your morning routine can make a big difference in how you feel throughout the day. Setting a positive tone from the moment you wake up can only take a few minutes.
